2.MD.C.8 Lesson Plans

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.2.MD.C.8

:
"Solve word problems involving dollar bills, quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies, using $ and ¢ symbols appropriately."

Our Take:Students solve money problems that involve whole dollar amounts and coins (quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies) and they know how to use the $ and ¢ symbols. Prior to solving problems that involve dollars and cents, students must first be able to recognize and know the values of the various bills and coins. Matching worksheets that require students to draw a line from a coin to its value help reinforce knowledge of coin recognition.

These lesson plans can help students practice this Common Core State Standards skill.
